Our Day of Recollection will be led by Rev. Fr. Justin Cinnante, a Carmelite retreat master and the chaplain of Iona Preparatory School (New Rochelle). Starting with Mass at 9 a.m. at Presentation Church, the day will be filled with Carmelite spirituality in the conferences, blessing and imposition of the brown scapular, and veneration of relics of various Carmelite saints. A tasty lunch is included and weather permitting, an outdoor Holy Hour at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Hudson. It was good to see board games being played at our Fellowship Hour. Thanks to the Fellowship Ladies for a hot lunch after the 11:30 a.m. Mass on August 25th. May we acclaim the fact that Our Lady, the sinless Mother of God, was spared mysteriously by God by having her assumed into Heaven in body and soul at the end of the course of her life on Earth. This mystery of faith is celebrated as a holy day of obligation on Thursday, August 15th at Holy Mass as follows at our parish: 8 a.m. at Presentation (Ordinary Form), 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart (Extraordinary Form), and 6:30 p.m. at Presentation (Ordinary Form). Confessions at Sacred Heart from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m.
