At the Frost Free fair sponsored by the Town of Esopus along Broadway in Port Ewen on May 18th, several parishioners joined Fr. Arthur Rojas, our pastor, in giving witness to the Catholic faith and our wonderful parish from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dozens of bulletins, rosaries, medals of the Sacred Heart, and other Catholic devotional and catechetical items were distributed to passers-by. Fr. Rojas dispensed blessings of objects and people as our parishioners greeted neighbors and attendees to the Frost Free fair. Hosea 10:12! Picture thanks to James O'Connell.
Scores of local Catholics gathered after Sunday Mass at the Marian house in back of Presentation Church on Hoyt Street to engage in the annual crowning of the image of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The annual May Crowning occurs in many parishes as one expression of Catholic devotion to Our Lady in May, which is traditionally the month of St. Mary. At the ceremony presided by Fr. Arthur Rojas, our pastor, and Dcn. Timothy Dean, three First Holy Communicants together crowned the image of Our Lady as the faithful sang and prayed. Picture taken by James O'Connell.
Of the seven winners of the youth essay contest honored by Knights of Columbus Council #275 (Kingston) on Saturday, three came from our parish: DARRENAE COQ, WILLIAM COQ, and SALVATORE MARCHESE. Fr. Arthur Rojas, our pastor, beamed with joy as he joined their parents, local Knights, and other onlookers at the award ceremony, which was hosted by Immaculate Conception parish in Kingston (Fr. Miroslaw Pawlaczyk, pastor). Thanks for Robert Santiago, Grand Knight, and his Knights for this day!
