On Tues., Mar. 5th at 6:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, let's welcome Rev. Fr. IHOR VORONTSOV of St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church (White Plains) to speak on "A Byzantine View of Lent through the Parable of the Prodigal Son," followed by your questions, then by a taste of Eastern Catholic prayer and chant. Fr. Vorontsov will be available for confessions afterwards. Although admission is free of charge donations would be appreciated. Next Evening of Recollection: Thurs. Mar. 21, 6:30 p.m. at Presentation.

Families as well as individuals of good will are most welcome to participate in the Lenten devotion of the Stations of the Cross, starting on Friday, February 16th at Presentation Church after the 8 a.m. Mass and at Sacred Heart Church at 6:30 p.m. The praying, meditating, and singing of this venerable devotion engage everyone present in body and soul as we contemplate the immense, sacrificial love of JESUS for each and all of us to undergo His Passion and Death for the redemption of mankind. The answer is YES. This year, let's show our love of God as FIRST in our lives by shifting our St. Valentine's dates, dinners, and parties to the NIGHT BEFORE (Feb. 13th) in the spirit of "Mardi Gras" (Fat Tuesday in French) or "Carnival" (a word which is rooted in the Latin word for "meat"). Thus, our romantic love for someone may not lead us away from our filial love of God. Anyway, our fasting and abstinence on Ash Wednesday would crimp our treating a spouse, fiancé(e), or boyfriend/girlfriend of the opposite sex in an extra special way. Therefore, we invite you to Mass on Ash Wednesday as follows: SACRED HEART 8 a.m. (Ordinary Form) and 11:30 a.m. (Extraordinary Form, with confessions 10:45-11:15). PRESENTATION 6:30 p.m. (Ordinary Form). ASHES WILL BE DISTRIBUTED ONLY AT OUR PARISH MASSES. Stay tuned for announcements of Lenten programming, including Stations of the Cross on Lenten Fridays starting Feb. 16 at Presentation after the 8 a.m. Mass and at Sacred Heart at 6:30 p.m.
