Notwithstanding the winter chill, Jesus awaits YOU in the exposed Blessed Sacrament this Saturday afternoon from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 1055 Broadway. This is the monthly Holy Hour at Sacred Heart Church, which complements the First Saturday Holy Hour every month at Presentation Church. In addition, we offer a prayerful and contemplative alternative to the raucous revelry of New Year's Eve with our END-OF-YEAR HOLY HOUR at Presentation Church, 209 Hoyt Street, Port Ewen, on Sunday, December 31st, 11:15 p.m. to Sunday, January 1st, 12:15 a.m. Families as well as individuals of good will are most welcome to join the Lord of time and place in this special event of Solemn Exposition, Adoration, and Benediction with the Blessed Sacrament.
We have learned that two seats out of the five-member Board of Fire Commissioners (Port Ewen Fire District) are up for election on Dec. 12 as shown above. The link of the "Notice of Election" is available at www.pefd.org . In light of the widely discussed referendum on Nov. 14, we urge our parishioners and neighbors in the Port Ewen Fire District to learn about the candidates and then pray before casting their ballots in person (it seems that absentee ballots are not available). O.L. of Guadalupe, pray for us!
